District of Columbia

In order to obtain a license in cosmetology, nail technology, or skin care in the District of Columbia (Washington, DC), students must complete the requirements listed below. Please contact the Washington, DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs for more information.

Requirements
COSMETOLOGIST: 1500 hours
NAIL TECHNOLOGIST: 350 hours
SKIN CARE: 125 hours

Reciprocity
Granted to all individuals whose current license is from a State whose requirements are equivalent to those of DC. Credit for work experience may be granted.
