Colorado

In order to obtain a license in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, or barbering in the state of Colorado, students must complete the requirements listed below. Please contact the Colorado State Board of Cosmetology for more information.

Requirements
COSMETOLOGIST: 1800 (60 credits)
BARBER: 1500 (50 credits)
COSMETICIAN: 600 (20 credits)
MANICURIST: 600 (20 credits)
HAIRSTYLIST: 1200 (40 credits)

Minimum Requirements
Applicants for licensure must be at least 16 years of age. Home salons and mobile salons allowed. Home salons and Mobile salons allowed.

Reciprocity
Colorado does not have reciprocity, we have endorsement and everyone who holds an active license in another state may apply for endorsement and everyone is reviewed on an individual basis.
