In order to obtain a license in cosmetology, esthetics or nail technology in the state of Alabama, students must complete the requirements listed below. Please contact the Alabama Board of Cosmetology for more information.
Requirements:
COSMETOLOGIST: 1500 hours or 3000 hours for apprentice
ESTHETICIAN: 1500 hours or 3000 hours for apprentice
NAIL TECHNICIAN: 750 hours or 1200 hours for apprentice
Reciprocity
Must meet the hours requirement of Alabama at the time of licensure. Must present proof of 5 years of licensed experience.
